Our client is dedicated to fostering strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, and customers. This person will play a crucial role in manage the procurement, pricing, and sales of grain products. You will work closely with farmers, suppliers, and internal teams to optimize grain inventory, enhance profitability, and ensure customer satisfaction
Key Responsibilities of the Grain Merchandiser:
• Monitor grain markets and analyze trends to inform buying and selling strategies
• Source grain from farmers and suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts to secure the best deals
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers providing them with timely information on pricing
• Assist with overseeing grain inventory levels
• Prepare reports on market conditions and use data to guide decision making
• Develop and implement risk management strategies
Background Requirements for Grain Merchandiser:
• Degree in Ag economics, ag business, finance, or related field
• 2 years of experience in grain merchandising or similar role
• Strong understanding of grain markets
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Proficiency in data analysis
